Bapalal Keshavlal is widely regarded as a leading international jewelry brand from India. Established in 1939, this design powerhouse – a family-owned business headed by Romy Mehta, son of Bapalal K. Mehta – has been praised for its manufacturing prowess, but more important, for staying true to its pioneering quality standard.

In the two decades since venturing into exports and being recognized by the Indian government for its consistent high sales, the company has established deep relationships with some of the world’s top high-end jewelry retailers. Indeed, all company activities are driven by its design ethos, which as its logo suggests is grounded in serving the manifold emotions and desires of women.

Bapalal Keshavlal’s has been the first Indian company to be invited to exhibit at very exclusive high-end jewelry trade shows such as Couture Collection and Conference, Luxury by JCK, the Prestige Promenade at JCK and most recently, the About J show (Italy). Moreover, it has won accolades in several design competitions: it was a finalist at the prestigious Town and Country Awards in 2005, it has been a winner and two-time finalist at the popular JCK Jeweller’s Choice Awards, and has won in several categories at the competitive Solitaire International Awards. Finally, Bapalal was the only Indian brand invited to join a select group of advertisers at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.

Today, Bapalal Keshavlal continues to be at the cutting edge of design innovation. In 2008, it launched Auratam, a gold jewelry line which is the first of its kind worldwide. Inspired by the simultaneous possibilities of engraving and layering, Auratam is a unique celebration of miniaturization and delicacy in gold and diamonds, and has been very well received by both consumers and retailers.
