The objectives of the Awards are to raise industry standards, create strong business camaraderie, provide industry leaders a platform for networking and interaction and at the same time to laud some exceptional efforts evident within the realms of jewellery designing and promotion, The Gemfields Retail Jeweller India Awards 2010 took place on 22nd August at The Intercontinental Hotel in Mumbai.

The awards honoured some of the best, most innovative and ingenious efforts in jewellery design and marketing. Over the past six years, the Retail Jeweller India Awards have established themselves as the most coveted, prestigious and sought-after awards within the Indian retail jewellery industry. For the first time, The Retail Jeweller India Awards introduced a brand-new category – The Jewellery Style Icon of the Year Award, which to be awarded to the personality who has made the most significant impact through the wearing of distinct and bold designs combined with an inherent sense of high fashion.

The award went to the stylish Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone who accepted her award, adorned in a spectacular set of Gemfields Zambian emeralds designed by Pihu Gems.
