Through a partnership with Platinum Guild International, Sicilian artist and theologian Agatino Cappella has turned his search for purity into a masterpiece unprecedented in the history of art.

A stunning interpretation of an olive tree, "L’Ulivo Blanco" (The White Olive Tree), was created from Capella’s determination to work only with the purest materials – platinum, diamonds and marble – in order to create a work of art that would be intrinsically beautiful, even before being shaped by the artist.

The tree features a hand-sculptured Carrara marble trunk, 3,333 grams of platinum branches and leaves and 366 carats of diamonds glittering throughout. A staple within the Mediterranean culture and throughout the world, the olive tree holds many symbolic meanings that have now been brought to life through the use of platinum, the most precious of white metals, which expresses purity, diamonds representing eternal light, and marble, the symbol of a new Italian Renaissance. "L’Ulivo Blanco" has now embarked on a world tour, which began at the Venice Film Festival and will next stop at Palazzo Lascaris in Turin.
