Lalique - Les Ames Sœurs

August 2013

Under the title “Les Ames Sœurs (Soul mates)”, Lalique is revisiting the myth of love and, in particular, the legend of Psyché and Eros.

A rich collection of around one hundred pieces, this new jewellery collection has 8 lines: Psyché (Psyche), Ailes de Psyché (the Wings of Psyche), Eros, Flèches d’Eros (Eros’ Arrows), Les Ames Sœurs (Soul mates), Serpent (Snake), Pissenlit (Dandelion) and Muguet (Lily-of-the-Valley).

Psyché

“Psyché de Nuit”: white gold bracelet (18 carats) paved with blue sapphires, black spinels, diamonds, aquamarines and coloured lacquer.

The personification of the soul and of beauty, Psyche takes off for the starry skies, unfolding her wings like a caress, turning from princess in to goddess. One of Maison Lalique’s iconic figures, the butterfly serves as the thread linking this precious line: modular necklaces and chains, pendants, rings, earrings, bracelets.

For daywear, they are draped in red gold and paved in precious or fine stones (diamonds, sapphires, citrines, tourmalines) with matching coloured lacquer. For eveningwear, their white gold is paved with diamonds blue sapphires, black spinels, aquamarines, lapis lazuli and coloured lacquer.

Eros

“Eros”: red gold ring and pendant paved with rubies and princess-cut diamonds

The god of love, the symbol of freedom and master of his choices, Eros (or Cupid) astonishes with the power he uses to find a humble heart and his soul mate. Bearing the elixir of love and happiness, his arrow, like a ray of sacred light, reaches the heart of Psyche and sets both souls ablaze.

The arrow is the emblem of the “Eros” and “Flèche d’Eros” lines, comprising pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets that are completely white (white gold and white diamonds), two-tone (white and red gold paved with champagne diamonds) or in precious stones: yellow, red or white gold set with sapphires, emeralds and rubies with diamonds.

Muguet

“Muguet”: white gold paved with diamonds, red gold paved with champagne diamonds, bells in pink quartz

Having escaped the snake and borne by a gentle wind (the zephyr) on a carpet of dandelions, Psyche comes to rest in a field of lily-of-the-valley in a pretty garden with a delicious fragrance.

An emblematic motif for Lalique, the lily-of-the-valley displays its small bells on necklaces, pendants, rings and earrings in white gold, white and red gold or yellow gold, a cascade of diamonds and precious or fine stones (sapphires, champagne diamonds, tsavorites, tourmaline, chalcedony, …) and mother-of-pearl. Its small bells choose pure white (moonstone) or unusual tones (lapis-lazuli, pink quartz).
