Chanel unveiled its new High Jewellery collection “Sous le signe du Lion” in white gold and platinum set with diamonds.

Coco Chanel was born under the sign of Leo on 19 August 1883. The lion is also a symbol of power and the dominance of Venice, one of her favourite places, over the world during during the Renaissance.

The new collection of 58 pieces of high jewellery highlights the strength and beauty of the king of the zodiac, with medallion-style necklaces, ropes of coloured pearls and outsized brooches.


The ’Lion Royal’

The most remarkable piece of the collection is The ’Lion Royal’ in platinum, white gold and diamonds produced in Chanel’s very own high jewellery ateliers, which opened last year.
