MUSE – Swiss art watches

MUSE – Swiss art watches

12 March 2018

Two Swiss creators launched on kickstarter a new brand of watches: MUSE. An invitation to live the present moment. A new design, a dreamlike dial where time without hands seems to have suspended his race. A time to relax and connect to the essential. Here and now! A tribute to Swiss watchmaking expertise, MUSE revisits a historic calibre, the self-winding mechanical movement ETA 2776, which production ceased more than 35 years ago. A watch with a strong message. A Swiss aesthetic and mechanics.

A watch with a strong message

As the name of the brand evokes, these timepieces have the ambition to inspire their owners, whether man or woman. In a hyper-connected world that is constantly accelerating, MUSE watches are a poetic and artistic reminder of the need to take a step back to relax and connect with the essentials.

To do this, traditional hands are replaced by finely crafted patterns that evolve over time and draw compositions in perpetual motion. This show is an invitation to open a parenthesis, to ask oneself, and to live at a more natural rhythm, that of the present moment.

Aesthetics and Swiss mechanics

Produced in limited series of 100 pieces, each model is equipped with the self-winding mechanical calibre ETA 2776. A historic movement, created in 1969 and whose production has stopped since 1982. The creators of MUSE were eager to revive this treasure asleep by reworking several hundred kits preciously kept for decades, by a collector. They propose a renowned movement MU-01, dressed in black rhodium with new finishes and oscillating weight whose engraving remembers the logo of the brand. This movement “in-house” is cased up in a 44mm or 37mm titanium case satin finish, polished and micro-blasted, available in natural colour, black PVD or rose gold and whose screw-down crown is engraved with the MUSE logo. The bezel and the bottom are both equipped with a scratchproof sapphire crystal treated with double antireflection. The dials are cut in a selection of different natural semi-precious stones including onyx and aventurine. Extended by a leather or satin strap with buckle, MUSE watches are waterproof up to 50 meters and offer a 48-hour power reserve.

Public prices range from 2080€ to 2370€ excluding VAT tax for basic models.

Reinforcing its unique and precious character, the bottom of each case of watch can be engraved with a personal message. A tailor-made philosophy that will soon also be at the heart of materials and crimping.

Behind MUSE watches - Swiss art watches, we find the will to undertake and the passion for the watch creation of its two founders, Frédéric Leuba and Pascal Robert. These two long-time friends, who have worked together for major brands and Swiss watchmakers for more than twenty years, are launching with love, precision and creativity.

To finance the production of their first models, a crowdfunding campaign will start the 6th of March on the Kickstarter platform and will last 30 days. It will aim to raise CHF 70’000.- (64’000€). For a participation of 1’260€ to 1’420€, the donor will receive in return a watch 44mm which he has the choice of the execution among three models. For a participation from 1’290€, the counterpart will be one of the three models 37mm (40% discount on the public price).

These watches will have engraved the mention "INSPIRED BACKER" and will be numbered according to the order of arrival of the supports. provides the global jewellery markets with the latest jewellery, haute joaillerie and luxury creations, all the news and decisive trends and colours in fashion.
