From April 25 to May 2, 2013 the world’s biggest and most important event for watches and jewellery is being staged in Basel/Switzerland. BaselWorld is being held in the new hall complex designed by star architects Herzog & de Meuron for the first time.
Over a period of some eight days, Basel is firmly in the hands of the watch and jewellery scene: specialist buyers, media representatives, trend scouts and design enthusiasts all meet up at BaselWorld. More than 100,000 visitors immerse themselves in the fascinating world of watches and jewellery. New designs and creations can be marvelled at and current trends pinpointed in an unrivalled atmosphere.
This year, the new hall complex designed by star architects Herzog & de Meuron constitutes a further highlight for the event. The modern exhibition site offers the ideal setting for an unforgettable show. Over a surface area of 141,000 m2, the most prestigious companies from the watch and jewellery sector all boast stunning, multi-storey stands to showcase their impressive brand worlds. New models and collections for the coming season are unveiled here and the latest innovations presented.
Each year, the show attracts an ever-growing number of media representatives. With 3,320 accredited journalists from more than 70 countries, BaselWorld 2012 set a new record in terms of media presence. With their reports in the specialist, daily, business and lifestyle media throughout the world, as well as in the online media and on TV and radio, the journalists ensure that the event has a global reach. In 2013 once again, it is expected that way above 3000 media representatives from all over the world will be coming to Basel.
