Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company - Give Back Locally

February 2015

Sarah’s Hope® jewelry, in partnership with local retail jewelers and Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, donate $10,000 to local charities.

From community childcare centers to homeless shelters, the United Way to Hospice, whether one hundred dollars or one thousand, local jewelers and their customers chose to make an impact with the Giving Back Locally charitable giving program this past holiday season.

During the peak jewelry promotional sales period of November-December, 2014, 32 jewelers across the USA and Canada raised nearly $10,000 for local charities through the purchase of Sarah’s Hope Jewelry.

Participating retail jewelers showcased select Sarah’s Hope Jewelry pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings and awareness ribbons, donating a percentage (20% suggested) of each sale to a local charity hand-picked by each individual retail jeweler.

Now in its fourth season, the Giving Back Locally program has raised over $110,000 for local charities in the USA and Canada.

GIVING HOPE AND HELP.

As the company has done since the Giving Back Locally program’s inception in 2011, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company enhanced the promotion by awarding an extra $1000 bonus to the charity of the store that sold the most Sarah’s Hope Jewelry during the promotional period.

“We were honored to once again partner with Sarah’s Hope Jewelry in the Giving Back Locally program and share in the giving spirit with jewelers across the country and within their local communities,” said Trina Woldt, chief marketing officer at Jewelers Mutual.

Thorpe & Co. Jewellers, of Sioux City, Iowa, donated $1000 and received this year’s $1000 contribution from Jewelers Mutual, raising a total of $2000 for its local charity, Mary Elizabeth Child Care Center (maryelizabethchildcarecenter.org). Store owner, Rusty Clark’s, great-grandfather was instrumental in forming the center over 100 years ago.

“There’s something about this program, Giving Back Locally, and Sarah’s Hope Jewelry that really struck a chord with people,” said store owner Karen Clark. “We were pleasantly surprised at how people responded to our ads promoting this program – they made it their mission to stop in and support this cause,” she explained. “There really are a lot of good-hearted people out there.”

BEAUTIFYING LIVES SINCE 2004.

Since its founding in 2004 with a mission to help women achieve their dreams of small business ownership, Sarah’s Hope Jewelry has helped lift up hundreds of women throughout the USA and developing world to achieve their dreams of economic self-sufficiency.

In addition to the seasonal Giving Back Locally program, each purchase of Sarah’s Hope Jewelry gives back domestically and internationally, year-round, by supporting important programs that fund microloans and small business education scholarships for women around the world.

“While our company continues to assist with international and domestic programs, our Giving Back Locally program has proven to be a wonderful opportunity for retail jewelers to contribute directly to charitable work happening right in their own backyards,” said Sarah J. Smith, Founder of Sarah’s Hope Jewelry.
