In June 2019, Tiffany & Co. introduces The Legendary Designs of Jean Schlumberger, a curated collection of re-created and reimagined designs by the celebrated artist and designer Jean Schlumberger, in the heart of the city that awakened his artistic soul, Paris.

As one of the 20th century’s most gifted artists, Jean Schlumberger is renowned for his fantastical creations infused with wit and curiosity. His pieces are among the most expressive and innovative in the world of jewellery design.

Though cast in stones and precious metals, Schlumberger’s is a world of energy and movement. Jellyfish with sapphire tentacles and jewelled dolphins undulate with the rhythms of the sea; glittering petals and leaves are stirred by gentle breezes. “I try to make everything look as if it were growing, uneven, organic,” he once said. “I want to capture the irregularity of the universe.”

The Legendary Designs of Jean Schlumberger pays homage to this creative mastermind through a series of four distinct themes.

FANTASY explores Schlumberger’s most irreverent designs while highlighting the fanciful blend of colour and texture that embody his whimsical point of view.

FLORA is a celebration of the natural world’s poetic grace—both below and above the sea. These exceptional designs showcase Schlumberger’s uncanny ability to bring nature to life through fluid shapes, lush leaves and blossoms rendered in diamonds and coloured gemstones.

FAUNA completes the journey through the natural world with a presentation of Schlumberger’s lively interpretations of critters and creatures alike. These creations not only illustrate the immense breadth of Schlumberger’s aesthetic but also provide insight into his humour.

Lastly, ICONS showcases Schlumberger’s most quintessential designs through a fresh new lens.

The Legendary Designs of Jean Schlumberger collection, curated exclusively for Paris, debuted to the public on 17 June 2019 through end of July at the Tiffany & Co. Champs-Élysées store.
