Hermès - The Pendentif Boule.

September 2013

The archives at Hermès are full of surprises, and bear witness to a past that is rich in hidden treasures of creativity and expertise. A recently resurfaced buttonhole watch thus inspired Hermès to create a timepiece that is as precious as a gem: the Pendentif Boule.

Amusingly, the ball rolls, rotates and sparkles with diamonds. A harmonious blend of over four hundred and eighty stones adorn the case middle and crown, concealing the white gold beneath the delicate settings. The hemispherical back sheathed in leather in the La Montre Hermès workshops highlights the house’s original saddlery and harness-making skills – a true treasure of craftsmanship. On the front, the sapphire crystal emphasises the roundness of the creation and protects a dial in natural white mother-of-pearl featuring delicate circular-grained hour-markers.

Presented here with matt indigo alligator leather on a white gold chain, the Pendentif Boule can also be crafted in various other colours.
