April 2013

OroArezzo - 13-16 April 2013 - has closed: positive appraisal for the edition which a lot of people consider the best one of the last years. In 4 days, more than 10,000 operators, 25% of whom were foreigners, took part in the fair

Satisfaction, faith and optimism: these are the feelings which seem to appear from the comments of the protagonists of the 34th edition of OroArezzo, which has closed down after four busy and fruitful days.

“After a long time - Giovanni Tricca, the President of Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show, says, to his great satisfaction - we can say something is going against the grain: it is the Italian goldsmith section, especially the one of Arezzo. And the Fair was a confirmation of this positive trend of this field. We could notice a strong vitality in business, thanks to the large group of international buyers and wholesalers, in particular the 250 big buyers, who came also thanks to the contribution of Arezzo Fairs. Apart from them, there were a lot of Italian retailers, confirming the desire of an economic recovery which also the domestic market has. An apparently satisfying reply was given to the requests of the national and international market, thanks to the uninterrupted collaboration between the exhibiting companies and Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show”.

This collaboration has become a well-established format for some years, according to the programmatic guidelines given by the fair management and which is confirmed by the positive comments of the entrepreneurs who took part in the fair.

“This was a beautiful and important edition - Gabriele Veneri from Sem.ar says - which clearly showed the effort, also from the economic point of view, made by the organisational team. OroArezzo was a charge but also a great opportunity for companies, which have to face up to problems together, as, when Italian companies are able to work as a team, they confirm their leadership in the world”. The international buyers have definitely agreed on the quality of Italian goldsmith products. They were rather ready to purchase and showed they appreciated the qualitative leap in the supply of the production of OroArezzo, the copiousness and the innovation of product lines.

“Operators came from all over the world to see made in Italy products - Raul Barbieri, Director of Arezzo Fairs & Trade Show, underlines - and this is a great satisfaction to the whole organisational team, since we really wanted to strengthen a tight net of contacts between our exhibitors and the international buyers. We are aware, of course, that we still have to work hard to achieve this result, but I think it is clear the route we took is the right one”.

Operators really appreciated also the initiatives dedicated to bijoux and fashion jewels, that is Bi-Jewel and Cash&Carry.

“Cash&Carry was definitely an excellent solution to this difficult moment - the delegates of Coar, a company which celebrates its 50th anniversary, explain - but also the flow of people in all fair pavilions is a great satisfaction, since it showed the effort the organisational team made and it is an interesting glimmer of hope in this difficult moment”.

And for somebody, this was not just a glimmer of hope, as we can understand from some entrepreneurs’ words, when they talk about a fair characterised by good business, not only with buyers from international markets.

Mauro Tridente was particularly enthusiastic. He is the person coordinating the retailers from Puglia and led a delegation of about 100 operators coming from all provinces of Puglia.

“It was a long time since I last came to this event - Tridente underlines – and I am very happy to be back again. We found exactly what we expected, as regards the supply, which allowed us to approach the absolute quality of high level bijoux in the Bi-Jewel pavilion. But we have especially and positively been struck by the rationality of the fair, as it has replied in an excellent way to our requirement of business contacts. In particular, what I find absolutely excellent in a period in which time is more than ever precious, is the “plus” Arezzo Fairs gives us, as it let us know previously the exhibitors’ features, giving us the opportunity to make our choices in advance and optimize our time”.

Our next appointment with the Fair will be next year, but OroArezzo 2013 still has other meetings and initiatives in store for the operators who took part in this edition. We will give you all news very soon.
