or nearly two centuries, Tiffany & Co. has helped shape the world of colored gemstones through pioneering gemstone discoveries, extraordinary acquisitions and unparalleled craft. Color has been central to Tiffany & Co.’s creative world, from stained glass masterpieces and its instantly recognizable hue to today’s iconic jewelry collections.
The latest expression of this heritage draws inspiration from a historic Tiffany & Co. necklace featuring lapis lazuli and pearls, famously worn by Rachel Lambert “Bunny” Mellon, whose effortless sophistication and discerning eye helped define a distinctly American approach to style.
Reimagining this archival design through a contemporary lens, Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille introduces turquoise and luminous Akoya pearls to the HardWear collection. Inspired by the bold palettes of the Pop Art era, notably the vibrant works of Andy Warhol, the new HardWear creations pair vivid color with the signature 18k gold links, bringing an archival creation into the bold contemporary world of HardWear by Tiffany.
Drawing on a design from 1962, HardWear by Tiffany embodies the energy, creativity and resilience of New York City. The introduction of turquoise and Akoya pearls brings a vibrant new expression to one of the House’s most iconic jewelry collections, while continuing Tiffany & Co.’s enduring dialogue with color.
The collection consists of nine new designs. The hero suite features a statement necklace and matching drop earrings with alternating turquoise beads and Akoya pearls set atop the signature HardWear links, creating a bold interplay of color and form throughout each design. The convertible 34-inch necklace features two seamlessly integrated clasps that allow it to be worn multiple ways, including a long necklace, double-wrap necklace or a shorter necklace paired with a bracelet.
The design is distinguished by pyramid-shaped gold domes that secure each stone—a refined design element whose pointed profile complements the rounded geometry of HardWear’s signature beads and U-shaped links. A suite features larger turquoise beads stationed throughout the links. The collection features various everyday styles, including pendants and earrings set with Akoya pearls or turquoise beads, which echo the design codes featured in the hero suite.
Turquoise remains one of the House’s legacy gemstones, popularized by Tiffany & Co. Sourced from the United States and Mexico, each turquoise bead is carefully selected and color matched to showcase a curated range of exceptional blues unique to natural turquoise. The Akoya pearls, sustainably sourced from Japan, are renowned for their exceptional luster, rarity and near-perfect shape.
Debuting on Tiffany.com and at Tiffany & Co. stores globally in October 2026, the new HardWear by Tiffany creations continue the House’s rich tradition of color through exceptional gemstones, inventive artistry and extraordinary craftsmanship.
